What an awesome Sunday! The Messengers
Quartet are always a delight. Even some of our youth said that even
though this was not their "Cup of Tea" they really enjoyed this group.
I, myself, believe their genuine love for God came through. Thank you
Messengers!
I really do appreciate JD & Cheryl Miller for their ability to lead
worship. Their unique style definitely engages each of us to focus on
worshiping God and what a way to draw us to God and God to us as
scripture makes it clear that God inhabits the praises of His people.
Because of this, each week we are given the opportunity to come
together as a congregation of unified believers, set on loving God and
destined to be in His presence. Be sure to set you clocks for this
very important time of the week...the beginning of what will make a
difference in the days to follow. The closer you get to being there
when everything starts (10:10 A.M.) the more of it all you will absorb
and thus the better you day and week.
This past Sunday night the Youth provided the most wonderful
SOUP-ER-BOWL celebration I have ever been to. So much food,
fellowship, fun...and my choice of teams won. What could be better?
Thank you Darlene Newsome and helpers for all you do and you do
sooooooo much! Thank you Nicole Bowling for providing an HD receiver
which allowed us to watch the game with greater clarity than most of
us are accustomed. Ashley Sparks also set up the big screen and sound
system which made it feel like we were sitting in the dome...Thanks!
This coming Sunday we will continue our series "In Search of the
Family." This week we will focus on the chapters of Genesis 29-31 &
Ephesians 4:15-32 and discuss how to best resolve the very inevitable
conflicts that will come into our lives. Make no mistake...each one of
us needs to learn how to get through the challenges of
life...especially in the home.
We will also be able to meet some more of JD’s family as one of his
brothers and one of his sisters join us and bring some their
giftedness to the service. You will not want to miss them!
Wednesday, February 13th JD and I will be with Harold Moore in Ashland
KY for Ashland First Baptist’s Valentine Banquet. You are invited to
join us for a time of love and entertainment with Harold Moore singing
as well as JD playing the piano and me doing the comedy thing. The
cost is $10 per person with a choice of chicken or steak. We need to
know by Sunday so the church there can give caterers an accurate
number. I know this is a week night which will make it a little tough
but we could caravan there so as to party all the way...did I say
that...Christians partying...ooh sounds difficult. Ha! Ha!
Come Sunday for another great day with our Lord.
For the Cause of Christ,
Kenny
