Praise the Lord for Lauren Palmer’s decision to accept Jesus as her Savior and to make a public statement to that face with her words and her actions. Lauren was baptized this past Sunday by her father Randy Palmer. It was an emotional moment as Father & Daughter were together in the baptistery for the cause of Christ. Way to go Randy! You get the Father of the Year award in my book. Many from Lauren’s family were there as well to witness this cornerstone event in her life and we are also thankful to them for their love and support. Lauren’s mother, Jennifer, has been involved in Children’s Ministry at Mt. Zion even before Lauren was born and I am sure she can testify that you get more out of something with the Lord than you could ever have put into it.

This Sunday Sermon Series will conclude with a Sermon from the life of Israel’s 1st King and a prophet named Samuel. You can find this story from the book of the Old Testament by the same title as the Prophets name. It is called 1st Samuel and it is from the entire 15th chapter as well as chapter 16 verses 1-4.

The title for this Sunday’s sermon is "Dismembered." King Saul had chosen to do as he thought best...not as he was instructed. Sometimes we rise to a position within our work where we believe our thoughts are more readily to be obeyed than managements. When they dock our pay, demote us or at worst relieve us of our duties we learn a valuable lesson which is really plain and simple. One we learned from our parents and teachers while we were growing up and if you haven’t learned it yet...here it is: "DO AS YOU ARE TOLD." WOW! How we love to hate that rule.

From 1st Samuel Chapter 9, all the way through 2nd Samuel Chapter 21 we may read of the life and death of Saul, a man chosen to lead a Nation through the instructions given from God through the Prophet Samuel but who came to think more highly of himself than a man ought.

We would be wise to learn from history...or rather his story, and let it not be our story.

Here are a couple of quotes we might find interesting as we ponder the concluding years of Saul’s life:
Inferiors revolt in order that they may be equal, and equals that they may be superior. Aristotle
By gnawing through a dyke, even a rat may drown a nation. Edmund Burke

Hope to see you in College Park at 8:30 AM this Sunday AND AT MT. ZION CHRISTIAN CHURCH at 10:10 AM

You will be glad you attended both services. I will not be preaching the same sermon at both services. As a matter of fact, we hope to have a wonderful song service at the Park as well as a short devotion (Time will not allow anything but that) and maybe even the youth from Mt. Zion and Franklin Avenue Church of God performing a dance during the communion service. I have watched them practice and I am sure it will be one of the highlights of our time together at the park.

Come expecting Jesus and you will undoubtedly leave with him.

P.S. As a way of communicating my upcoming schedule more effectively I wish to convey to everyone that J.D. Miller and I will be in Freedom, Indiana this Thursday through Saturday Night / Early Sunday Morning. After the Park service and 10:10 service at MZCC, J.D. and I will return to Freedom, Indiana for one final night of revival.
The last week of September, J.D. and I will go to South Carolina for a Revival. We will leave on a Thursday and return on a very early Monday morning.
October 22nd will be the date for the Americana Music Group to make our anticipated return to China for concerts and meetings with the underground church. While J.D. and I are away, Doug Flynn, 2 time World Series champion from the Cincinnati Reds will speak. You will not want to miss his testimony. He recently spoke to the Bluegrass Christian Men’s Fellowship and was absolutely awesome.

This will be my fourth visit to China and I am very proud of MZCC for their desire to see the great commission fulfilled. I have been told that the American Music Group is the first to publicly sing praise songs to God in China. In the past we have been able to sing a few venues with our Christian music but this year our opportunities have increased as we have been offered the ability to sing at 5 – 6 different Universities. Each institution has guaranteed an audience of at least 40,000.

Just think...your support has granted the gospel of Christ the first Chinese public display of worship to God since communism took over. Just wonder, what a soul saving harvest opportunity there is for such a time as this.
Just see...the fields are white unto harvest.

For the Cause of Christ, Your friend,

Bro. Kenny
