This past Wednesday a team of staff, Elders & Deacons (Oh there I go
with titles) met to discuss items important to MZCC and decided to
be involved in a Christmas Program which could easily involve
everyone at MZCC. The only problem: Would there be anyone left to
see the program / ministry. The solution would be indepth
advertising which again could involver each one of us. This could be
one of the biggest things we have ever done at MZCC but it will be
totally up to each and everyone of as to whether it happens or not.
More about this Sunday. You will know the advertisement when you see
it.
Great sermon from J.D. Miller this past Sunday. I greatly appreciate
his words concerning our own personal: "Physical, mental & spiritual
involvement in ministry." Titles should be out and ministry in. Love
it, love it, love it...Especially the fireman / firewoman
illustration which was made very pain to everyone. If you didn’t
catch that one...well you should have.
This Sunday I plan to segue from J.D.’s Sermon to Matthew’s Gospel
where Jesus gives us a challenge. It is a challenge which is as
needed today as it was the day Jesus spoke these words:
Matthew 9:35-38 Jesus went through all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom
and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds,
he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Read that one over a few times. Even try separating it into thoughts
which reveal why he was doing what he was doing and why he wants us
to be about the same business. Look at how this may only be
accomplished and then ask yourself what we are doing to follow where
he leads. See you this Sunday.
For the Cause of Christ,
Kenny
