J.D. Miller was at Gardenside Christian Church playing for the
Messengers Quartet this past Sunday and is scheduled to be in Revival
this coming Sunday. He arranged for Casey & Carman Stickley to lead
our worship service with the aid of their friend Brittany Mason and I
have to say they did an out standing job. Thank you's are extended to
the Stickleys for traveling so far to join us in this way.
I am equally thankful to Michael and Cheryl McKenney for Bass guitar
playing and Cheryl’s beautiful singing. Also it was great to have
Bruce & Lisa Manley back in our praise team. Christie Prater has
missed a few Sunday’s due to family health issues but she was back to
join the rest of our singers. Thank you to everyone who every week
helps make worship such an awesome experience. People such as Corey
Soldwisch, David Chism, Mike Lawson, David Congleton, Kim York, Mary
Grashel & Mark Baumgardner. Some are seen and some are not but each is
essential. Thank you again and again.
Oh and didn’t everyone just love Judy Speakes coming forth with a
microphone to set me straight on a few things. Don’t think I didn’t
see who was laughing the most. I’ll remember each one of you. Ha! Ha!
We are scheduled to continue our Sermon Series "Commitment" this
coming Sunday and I am pleased with your responses concerning these
insights toward dedication. We continue to leave the ultimate visual
of Sacrifice displayed each week. Nothing could offer a description of
sacrifice better than the cruel cross upon which our Savior died. And
nothing I know of could show the reward for being committed to a
sacrifice to God as much as the tomb…THE EMPTY TOMB. We all need to be
deeper drawn to a life totally and truly committed to God. Such was
the feeling and words of Dr. Daniel Manley, who requested to voice his
own total surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ this past Sunday
through repentance, confession & Baptism into the Name of the Lord
Jesus. We are all so very proud of him for this public profession.
What a surprise to see Jim & Cheryl Kroemer this past Sunday. Jim had
played a great role at Mt. Zion while they lived here but a change of
job position led them to Syracuse, Indiana where they have been
greatly missed. At communion time I asked Jim to come forth and share
and what a superb talk he gave. We still need to pray for this family
as they are reeling from Cheryl’s recent physical set backs...but they
both looked great...just like a miracle.
Continue to invite family and friends as we desire for them to all be
saved and leading a victorious Christian life.
Hope to see you Sunday.
For the Cause of Christ,
Kenny
