What a wonderful time with the Lord this past Sunday as we continue to anticipate many more. God is truly pouring out His Holy Spirit on the lives of those attending Mt. Zion Christian worship services as we witness more and more baptisms. This past spring JD Miller and myself witnessed a missionary speak of the persecution he had endured personally. He commented how many had professed a faith in Christ Jesus as their savior but it was only when they came to be baptized that they were confronted with the choice of accepting ALLAH (Islam) as their religion OR being shot to death on sight. A few were killed in that river right before their very eyes, but this missionary was spared due to some miraculous reason. Praise God for those who submit to the Christian ordinance of Baptism as a result of their faith, confession and acceptance of Christ as their savior.

The only down side to all of this...from a human standpoint, is that we continue to run over budget monetarily weekly. All I can do is ask that each person strive to do more for the Lord...even when it is most difficult. I realize gas prices are climbing daily and there seems to be no relief in sight, but that is when we are looking with only human eyes. When we step out in faith, as we should, we will see the deliverance of God. This is exactly what our Nation should do as well. We should be looking for God to be the author and finisher of our faith instead of any political or economic force.

This Sunday I plan to bring a stirring sermon concerning our struggle to return to the Garden of Eden. What exactly is "The Way to the Tree of Life." We will see it is still possible to eat from this tree even though Angels protect it with flaming swords.

Don’t forget, we begin Vacation Bible School this Sunday and many will be involved. The real question however is...Will you be one of those many?
