From the Preaching Minister

How wonderful to see everyone this past Sunday. J.D.
Miller challenged those who came early to sit in the middle
so as to promote a closer fellowship and I thought, "Well no
one will be sitting on the sides" but even that filled up
quickly as well. Well...not so quickly but never the less it
did fill up. Thanks for cooperating when asked to do small
things which actually produce great results and shows the
world it is not all about mwaah.
I am very thankful for those who were honored for their
years of service which often times may go unrewarded and
sometimes even unnoticed but needed just the same. I was
especially glad to hear everyone's comment. The memories we
all share are the things which bond us closer and closer.
Some have taught Sunday school, kept the nursery, been
members of the board, cooked, cleaned, and helped with VBS
and so on. The list seems endless...much like our gratitude.
Thank you to each and every one who came forward at this our
first ever and hopefully annual event. I hope to do this
again this coming Sunday for there were a few who were not
present and I do not want to leave them out.
We congratulate Cindy Bailey upon her Baptism, Cheryl
Sizemore with her rededication and Dana Dupre (Soon to be
Chism) with her transfer of membership to Mt. Zion. We are
truly experiencing the very best time of spiritual growth I
have known since coming to Mt. Zion 17 years ago. This is
not due to better preaching, better music or better budgets.
I believe it is due mainly to God's people being on the same
page, desiring more of the Savior and His presence, and a
willingness to cooperate with the move of the Holy Spirit
upon each of our lives.
I plan to continue our series by bringing a message from the
fourth chapter of the book of Daniel. Read ahead and see if
you might find a statement which King Nebuchadnezzar has
heard once before and now states himself...that is once his
senses are restored. It should be the battle cry for every
child of God. It is a statement which serves to give hope
and light even in the midst of the most grievous darkness.
Please do not forget about the "Trunk - N - Treat" which is
coming up. We need a few more volunteers to dress up the
trunks of their vehicles. Also we need to complete the sign
up for the Christmas pageant "How Christmas Saved the
Grinch." Check the bulletin each week for events, times,
practices and performances.
I hope to see everyone Sunday and try to bring a friend. We
are keenly aware of the revival going on but many are not.
You might be the one who helps make a difference for
eternity in someone's life.
For the Cause of Christ,
Kenny |
