From the Preaching Minister

J.D. & I have just returned from Florida where we were
part of the 5th annual "Hallelujah Hoedown." J.D. & I were
able to fly (one way) to Orlando via Allegiant Airlines for
only $80.00 each. We then rented a car and drove to
Clewiston which we have done for the last four years but
this was the first time the flight was less than half the
expense of the car rental. We rode back with Lowell Mason
and arrived home Monday evening just ahead of the second
snow storm. We really hated missing all of snow and ice.
Each night we witnessed a packed house where the two and one
half hour service went forward so smoothly it seemed like
only one hour. Three soloists from Clewiston, Florida,
participated in the services each night as well as "The
Homestead Trio" from Homestead Florida, "Lowell Mason" from
Carl Junction, Missouri, "The Kentucky Hillbillies" from
Pikeville, KY., "Homeward Bound" from Illinois, "The
Cornwall Twins" from Missouri, "Aaron Roberts" from Indiana,
Artie & Dora Carnes from Freedom, Indiana, J.D. Miller &
myself.
On the last night of services we witnessed a young girl come
forward to re-dedicate her life to Christ as Elders, Deacons
and other members came forward to do the same. There was an
overwhelming presence of the Lord within the building as was
visibly evident. All of us voiced aloud the belief of Jesus
as Savior. It was truly an inspiring time and I am grateful
for Mt. Zion's vision to promote these adventures for J.D. &
myself.
I spoke with Judy and she told me how awesome last Sunday's
services were at Mt. Zion. Even though many called off
services and in spite of Channel 36 falsely announcing our
closing, many of you came and enjoyed a great time with
Barry DeWitt. I want to thank Bob Jarrett for listening to
the leading of the Holy Spirit and requesting another verse
of the song Barry sang about coming home and asking that
everyone sing. As a result, Anthony Paynter came forward
desiring to be baptized...and this happened after the
sermon, communion & offering, not usually the time people
come forward but praise be to God we aren't always following
a script. THANK YOU BOB !!!!
Bruce Manley has informed me that we will be viewing our
last segment of "The Truth Project" Wednesday night and we
intend to show the movie "Expelled" by Ben Stein next
Wednesday........along with a potluck meal. Movie & a Meal,
what a deal, when potatoes we peal, and the people all
squeal for "MOVIE & A MEAL!!!" OK enough of that.
For the Cause of Christ,
Kenny |
