YET ANOTHER WONDERFUL DAY AT MT. ZION CHRISTIAN CHURCH!!!!
WWOOO HOOO!!!

Mary Kling gave a great presentation of the Guatemalan Ministry in which she and her husband Bob are involved. Her slide show was wonderful as each picture told its own story and her time of speaking was equally inspiring. I spoke with one young lady who is pretty much proficient in Spanish and now has a desire to join the Klings on one of their future travels...maybe even this fall.

Then we completed our study of the book of Genesis from the 11th chapter. This was the Tower of Babel/Confusion of language sermon. Most seemed impressed with the Joseph Free article which I will repeat at this time in print:

Joseph Free, in his work Archaeology and Bible History, relates that between 1850-1854, the city of Nineveh was excavated....A set of ancient Babylonian clay tablets were discovered that told, not only of a great flood, but also recorded the destruction of a particular Mesopotamian ziggurat, or tower.

George Smith of the British Museum translated the tablets which read: "The building of this temple offended the gods. In a night, they threw down what had been built. They scattered them abroad, and made strange their speech."
[Joseph Free & Howard Vos; Zondervan Publishing Company, 1992, p. 41]

During invitation four people came forward to express their personal faith in Jesus Christ as God's Son, their desire to accept Him as their Savior AND to follow through with Biblical baptism. H.R. Bailey and his daughter,17 year old Almond, Delaney Mitchell 7, and Michael Woosley 17 were those who came together and voiced their belief in Christ...and we as a body of believers rejoice with them and Heaven for their decisions. Praise ye the Lord!

Eric and Sarah Polley are moving to Missouri. It was sad but at the same time wonderful to see their prayers answered through their house selling AND for us, their spiritual brothers and sisters, to be able to say a Christian "See Ya Later" so they might be near Sarah's family. The Polley's are a wonderful couple whose children are among the cutest. We will surely miss them but Missouri isn't that far away. Hey...you all are close enough to Mexico for me to say a hearty "Via Con Dios!"

Judy Blackwell is beginning a Wednesday night Ladies study starting this Wednesday. She will conduct her classes in the Kitchenette and she invites all ladies to attend. Judy is a wonderfully gifted teacher and lady of God as well as wife to Paul Blackwell. They have made Mt. Zion their home for several years and I am sure you will enjoy this time each week so come on out at 7 pm and enjoy.

Well Nancy Gray has set the date for this year's Vacation Bible School and it is Sunday, July 19th through Wednesday, July 22nd - 6:15pm - 8:15pm. It has been a long and arduous task as Nancy has tried to juggle so many scheduling conflicts, waiting on return phone calls, negotiating tent supplies and camping materials, cutting firewood, plucking chickens N such...AAAHHH!!! Does it ever end????

Nancy will be conducting meetings each Wednesday beginning June 24th at 6:30pm to 7:30pm and every Sunday through July 15th from 4pm-7pm to get all these camp counselors situated and their camping supplies ready such as Bug spray, Mosquito nets, Fly traps, Bear traps N such much needed paraphernalia.

VBS is going to have a camping theme and the big news is...on Wednesday, July 22nd Nancy is working on a big celebration with Party Central equipment AND a camp out/sleep over at MZCC. COULD IT GET ANY BETTER?????? Wow, VBS 4 U & meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Come out each night and catch the action as I am sure we will be visited by those kooky threesome from last year's amusement park. They have just recently switched vocations and are now employed by the ACME VBS Campers Excursion Outfitters of America Corporation Extraordinaire...better known as the "CEO boys". Oh, I can't wait to put some big ole frogs down in your sleeping bags. Yee Haw!!!!!

Now to more a more serious matter, please remember to pray for J.D. Miller and Sarah Polley as well as everyone else who is ministering with them in Honduras. They will be there for a little more than a week and ministering to the people of Honduras while also conducting a "Honduran Idle" contest. The last time we were there Carlos Vargas won the contest and as a result, is currently studying music in Cincinnati, however he was able to break free for a while and travel back to Honduras with J.D. where he is performing with the worship team.

When J.D. returns on Sunday night (or the wee hours of Monday morning,) he will have just a little time to adjust and begin the long drive to Branson, Missouri where Mary Grashel, Cheryl McKenney, J.D. & I...as well as four or five others, will minister at Cecil Todd's "Revival Fires Camp Meeting." We will be taking two vehicles and lots of equipment. The meetings begin Tuesday Morning and runs through Thursday night. We will be busy most of the time with great speakers, singers and some of Branson's best performers. Dino & Cheryl Kartsonakis, the talented pianist's will be with us one night as well as Tony Orlando & Dawn, that singing group from back in the 60's. What you want to bet by now "Dawn" looks more like "Settin Sun?" It's a joke, just a Joke!

This year "Revival Fires" is celebrating 60 years of service to God and by all accounts, it is supposed to be one of the biggest ever. Cecil Todd began preaching as a young man and still has the enthusiasm and drive of a teenager. Out west he was the Billy Graham of the Christian Church. Many of his television programs were seen in Lexington, KY. each week. I pray it is a wonderful event which centers it's delight in Christ. Please pray for Cecil's wife Linda as she is recovering from a surgery and truly desires to be at this years celebration.

On a sadder note, I regret to inform you of the passing of Steve Falcon. Steve left this world Tuesday morning around noon (our time) according to his son Chris who called to inform me. Steve had requested I perform his funeral so I am making plans to fly out to San Antonio, Texas Thursday and hopefully back Saturday. This will, more than likely be, extremely difficult for the Falcons as it is the weekend of our yearly celebration of "Fathers Day". Please pray for this family who has travelled so many miles, met so many people, touched so many lives, all in such a positive way and now...for the cause of Christ, endeavors to proceed forward without the visible presence of this one who was loved so much, fought so diligently and now is with our Lord.

Kenny
