Warning: Some of the following statements may not make much sense unless you were in attendance this past Sunday at Mt. Zion Christian Church where we learned about the second death (mentioned in the book of Revelation) and what it really means...but at any rate...here we go:

Fifty seven year old Alexis Arguello, a 1995 retired boxing champion and most recently, Mayor of his Managua, Nicaragua hometown, was found dead Wednesday according to ESPN News. An autopsy will determine the cause of death...and yet the real cause doesn't need a diagnosis...It is due to the fall of Adam & Eve. Everyone is subject to this destiny called death but it does not have to be the death we most always think of AND when death becomes a reality, it may or may not be reported, even by local news, despite who we may have been or what we might have achieved.

We talked about this last Sunday and I hope to continue clearing some of the muddled waters surrounding our future homes. "Homes...Plural," you might say. Yes "Homes...Plural." There are basically two homes and one requires a choice on our part; the other requires we refuse to make a choice or choose to merely continue doing nothing. This latter home which I speak was in reality prepared for the devil and his angels...and it hopes to house the lost as well.

The other home, which is being prepared, is the one Jesus spoke of according to the Gospel of John where in chapter 14 Jesus told the disciples to not worry;
John 14:1-3 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

I can truly say I am not troubled about my future home but the "Home of the Brave" is a different matter. I know God is in control and my eyes are clearly set on things that are above...but I pray for this Nation who at one time had a clear course for the cause of Christ but now looks so different than that which I read in OLD HISTORY BOOKS. It has been said that time is a great equalizer and these days it seems the evil one is surely getting more than a fair share of equal time...especially in America.

This Saturday we, as a nation, will celebrate the signing of the declaration of Independence which is the document men and women, long ago, gave their lives, in agreement, to the signing of, fighting for and living with. In the 233 years that have passed since the dawning of this great day, we now celebrate it with fireworks, meals, vacations, family reunions, parties...etc...and yet many may fall prey to forgetting what it is all about. We enjoy the freedom citizenship in the United States of America affords and yet some forget it took all that our forefathers had, to give us that which we enjoy.

We stand today as a Nation of people with diversities of beliefs and desires. Some seek to strengthen our Nations greatest documents as well as the reason for their existence, while others push further and further to deny their need and or manipulate their original intent. And just as we have a choice in spiritual matters which affect our eternal future, we also have a choice in moral & ethical matters which may in themselves direct and destroy this Nation.

Enjoy the celebrations of the Fourth of July but don't forget to come out this Sunday as we delve deeper into "Hope For Tomorrow." Yes we will speak of that which happens when we leave this world and I realize this subject might be painful for some who have recently seen loved ones pass away but I can't NOT teach this. We desperately need to realize the Bible is not for our adding to or taking away from OR manipulating even when circumstances seem to dictate. It is a document which God intended to be light within the darkness...and we who choose to walk in this light will see things differently as we move closer and closer to the light. We will laugh again, look again and long for once again to be with our Creator, God Himself where an eternal home awaits those who have embraced the freedom offered by choosing to follow HIM. I have much to say which should serve to encourage the saved and confront the lost. Let us pray together for those who will be challenged to follow Christ for Christ is the only way through this messed up world.

While preparing for our weekend celebrations I want us to think about something for a moment; if you witnessed someone you care about in a situation which is about to take their life, would you sit idly by because you did not want to offend them or someone else? Of course not and yet that is exactly what we do many times with that which lasts forever...their very soul. "Well I would hate to make Susie uncomfortable by making her do something she really doesn't want to do... and little Bobby, why he is so much happier and easier to get along with when I let him sleep in on Sundays." May Heaven help us to see the error of our ways, especially when it comes to the welfare of those who live within our earthly families.
Our Bible has clear instructions for every Christian concerning the lost:
Jude 1:22-23 Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

We have an appointment which will not be interrupted for anything but until that appointment is met, why not join us...with all of your family and together, LETS SNATCH THEM FROM THE FIRE!

There are homes prepared and being prepared...which one will it be for you and yours?

For the Cause of Christ,

Kenny
