Kenny's Blog

July 21, 2009

Well, I am back from a week long Revival at Parish Hills Christian Church and a Saturday night/Sunday morning session with the good people of Falmouth, KY. We were at the Griffin Industries Amphitheater and really did appreciate the cooler weather.

This week we are busy with our "Camping" themed VBS. I appreciate everyone who has helped to prepare and promote this year's program. Everything is going great and we have record attendances. Nancy Gray reported we ministered to 119 children the first night and 146 children the second night. WOW!!! I have told everyone I know of that MZCC has the greatest VBS around. There is nothing mundane when Nancy Gray is involved. She has a wonderful team of helpers, teachers, ushers, cooks and cleaners. VBS at MZCC is truly a united effort and it shows. If you have not witnessed this for yourself, come on out. Wednesday night will surely be the biggest night as there is an overnight campout planned...rain or shine. If it rains, we will campout in the gym...after PARTY CENTRAL has removed all of their FUN STUFF!!!!!!!

While typing this weeks blog, I received a telephone call from one of the parents whose children have come to VBS. They said that one of their children woke them up at 6:30 am asking if they could go back to MZCC now. The parent told the child that they would go tonight...now go back to bed. Ha! Ha!

I also want to thank Mark & Janet Lahman for their ministry this past Sunday. They are wonderful people and I have heard many good reports of how they conducted the service and how every child was quiet and still while Janet used the chalk to make a beautiful picture. Then when the black light was applied, it even more beautiful. We are fortunate to have had them both with us this past Sunday.

This Sunday we might mix things up a bit. We might have the Sermon early so as to accommodate some other things that are going on. ALSO...I have heard through the rumor mill that we might have some surprise guests who look a lot like fuzzy people. Make sure you get to church early this week as things will probably be a little different...but what's new, it's always a little different.

I wish to reprint a note we have received from the family of Steve Falcon:

Mt. Zion Church,

My Children and I want to thank you all very much for all of your prayers. Although the Lord chose to take our precious Steve on to be with him in Heaven, we know that God's plan was perfect and pleasing to him. I know that it is hard to see the good in all that we have gone through, but for what satan has tried to do...We will only Give God The Glory! Your church has been a comfort to us and we pray that God continues to bless each and every one of you. Please continue to pray for our family as we continue to thank God for Mt. Zion Christian Church and its many prayer warriors. We love you and look forward to visiting with you again soon as we continue to carry out Steve's Testimony & the message that God gave him.

With all our Love & appreciation,
The Family of Steve Falcon
Cristol, Chris, Jenn, Kayla, Tru & Kyle

Please do continue to pray for the Falcon family as well as our own Louie & Maudie Allison family. They just found out that Louie's brother, Bill, died recently in a plane crash in the southern United States. Please pray that the PEACE of GOD will come to both of the two fine families.

For the Cause of Christ,

Kenny
