MZCC
is proud to have ordained Dan Geddes to
Ministry. I thank Dan for answering the call and pray he has many years
of ministry. Cindy, Dan’s wife is precious as well, and their whole
family follows in their steps. Encourage Dan and Cindy whenever you can
for ministry is tough and they need to minister as God calls…just
like Dan said, even if it is only serving juice when you would rather be
teaching older kids. I now see exactly why God called Dan to the
Children’s area and I thank God and Dan for their wisdom.
Ah,
the Holidays…Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years…Think about
it, we start this season of Holidays with a remembrance of being thankful
and then move toward one of the greatest days of the year
“Christmas” which we should be most thankful. Then after
celebrating this, the greatest gift of all, we begin a new year, a new
day…a new beginning. See the progression? Now, may others see that
progression within us all as well.
Try
and let your Holiday season begin with the thankfulness we should all
acknowledge. Lead in prayers of thanksgiving, think of those things for
which you are most thankful, and most of all “Share these thoughts
with others…Audibly.” Try and make this “Thanksgiving
Day” the best one ever. We are already headed in the right
direction. This past Sunday you gave $1,800 in the special offering
toward the $3200 for the 40,000 pounds of food given to the McKee
Mission. Add that to what had already been received over the past weeks
and…well, Praise God it has now been paid for! Jackson County is the second poorest
county in KY and its city, McKee, is the poorest City in KY. Thanks for
helping the truly down and out.
Our
Youth, along with Director Darlene Newsome participated in the
“Jesus Prom” which is always held at Calvary Christian
Church. We have the best youth ever!!!!! “Thank you” goes out
to everyone who gave so willing and cheerfully. This is an annual event
and I want to thank Calvary for promoting this worthy endeavor each year. Some of our
MZCC’ians were paparazzi, others were
crowd cheering folks and some danced with kids, who years ago, would not
have attended proms or been offered this special event. THANKS!
Starting
today I am asking that each of us (In addition to everything else you do
so generously) bring a toy for a girl or boy…you choose. We want to
help out with “OPERATION HAPPINESS” in giving presents to the
needy within our Winchester community. We have
about 85 boys and 70 girls, ages 10 -11 years old who are in need of
assistance this year. The gifts should be from $7 to $10 and we hope to
give two gifts to each child. We also need to know how many children and
whether you wish to purchase gifts for boys only or girls only or for a
boy and a girl…you get the idea. This is so the gifting can be
reported so as to not leave out some girls while giving too many for boys
or vice versa. We will have a sign up list for this Sunday. Also, if
anyone would want to email me back or call me, I would go ahead and
record your decision. 859-771-8087 & kws0077@yahoo.com. They suggest a football,
basketball, hand held games or game boards for the boys. For the girls,
jewelry craft kits or tye dyed craft kits,
board games or hand held games.
Please bring these to Church and let’s see if we can help
out along with the many other churches involved in this gifting. We hope to pray over the gifts on
Sunday, December 13th as this is the deadline for bringing the wrapped
gifts to Church. They will be taken to the Episcopal Church later that
day and given out two days later.
Again,
I want to express my deepest thanks to everyone at MZCC…You have
the biggest hearts! In the midst of your own private pain, the bills you
need to pay, the time that’s never enough, through loss or in gain
there you stand…time and time again, ready to lend a hand, to reach
deep and find the resources needed to help someone else. And that’s
it, that’s what makes so many find Christ and MZCC,
“YOU.” They see Jesus in you and they want to be where He is.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
“Thank
you God that your people at MZCC give with so much love. Please bless
each gift and thank you for the free choice to give. May each gift be
received with the Spirit of your Son. May we
recognize more opportunities in the future and respond to each challenge,
each time, with the love that flows from your throne, Amen.”
For the cause of Christ,
Kenny
