Dec 3 2009 Don’t know how many
are aware of the fact that while I was
in China this past October/November
Judy began sanding the floors
downstairs…not just one room
but three. She thought she would make
the most of the rental fees and cover
as much space as possible. With that
said, we have dust everywhere! Not
that I am complaining but more than
anything our house is somewhat
uninhabitable at the time of our
annual downtown parade…that is
unless you are a
dust mite. In times past we would all
gather at 36 Boone for Hot coco, pizza
n cookies and from time to time go
back outside and put the finishing
touches on the float which we would
park at the side of
our house. This was really
convenient, especially when it was
extremely cold outside. Bob
Jarrett has come over to complete the
job and as I write, he is there
sanding, staining and applying the
poly urethane. The aroma is quite
intoxicating.
Now…what I have
written, does it sound like your
world? Is this time of the year always
more hectic for you than any other
time? Are there less hours in the day?
Bills got you down? Well, introducing,
new from
Ronco…………….don’t
ya wish it were just that simple.
Life is tough for every
one of us and at the same time we can
view it as either a problem or a
challenge. Although I am personally
having difficulties distinguishing
between the two right now I know
things will get better. Why? Because I
am going to see to it that they do. I
refuse to roll over and play dead;
it’s not such a fun game and
Judy just reminded me of one off my
favorite scriptures:
Ecclesiastes 7:8 (NIV)
8
The end of a
matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than
pride.
Oh how I love it when she
gets spiritual, but she makes a good
point. Hanging in there will allow us
to grow with the situation rather than
away from it. Twice in that verse it
uses the word “better.”
That is what I am looking for
“better.” Just wish it
were here now but I know I will find
what I am looking for…just have
to keep looking.
I have said all of that as
a way of apologizing for our house not
being open during this time of jovial
parade confusion. Please forgive us
and pray for Bob Jarrett, his hands
are full.
Starting this Sunday I
hope to deliver a series of messages
with a different Christmas song for a
title each week. I am really excited
about this series and hope you will
invite your friends (Ones who do not
go to church somewhere else) to come
out and hear each one of these
inspiring messages. Dec 6th –
“Hark the Herald Angels
Sing.” Dec 13th –
“Joy To the World.” Dec
20th
– “O Little Town of
Bethlehem.” Dec 24th –
“O Holy Night” Thanks
for your patience with me and mine and
for choosing to glorify God in worship
at Mt. Zion Christian Church and
wherever you are
today.
For the Cause of
Christ,
Your Preaching Minister,
Kenny
