Let us not give up meeting together,
as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and
all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
The JOY women's group was formed in Jan. 2008. This is open to any woman
in the church. You do not have to be a church member, just come and be
with us for fellowship and encouragement. We will be meeting this year
on the first Tues. of the month unless other wise stated. The dates are
as follows April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, Aug.4, Sept. 1, Oct. 3, Nov.
3, and Dec. 1. We ask for the women in the group to take a monthly
meeting. It is up to that person to decide what their meeting will be
about. You can have it in your home, the kitchenette or wherever you
would like.
We met this past Monday night at Al's Garden Center and the Garden Girls
Cafe for a delicious dinner. Here are some of our projects from the
past. We have had an Easter basket making party. We gave 85 plus baskets
last year to the Appalachian Mission of Hope. Mimi Sparks taught us to
make blankets that we made, prayed over and then donated to the Linus
Project. We had a movie night. We also went to the home of Kim and Tim
York for a potluck. That was lots of fun!! Come and be with us on April
7th in the kitchenette. Bring the makings for making up Easter baskets
to donate to AMofH again this year. It is up to you to bring the fixings
for 1 to ever how many you want to make. A snack will be served.
